ReFi DAO

ReFi DAO is a network of communities working on regenerative finance. It has three parts: a small global team, local nodes (groups rooted in a city or a region), and initiatives that run across them. In its own words it is “a global movement of communities exploring new systems for finance, technology, and coordination in service of life”.

What I did

I worked on operations: the day-to-day coordination and the systems underneath it.

In 2025 a lot of that was the local node programme. We rebuilt how a new node joins, wrote the Local Node Toolkit and a canvas for groups that are starting, and opened a small pool to help each new node begin. I wrote up the year in a retrospective on the forum.

I also built much of the current website, and a site template that local nodes can reuse.

The handover

Until 2026 ReFi DAO was led by its founders. This year it handed itself over to an elected council, the first election in its history. I was one of the two people running that transition, and in June 2026 I was elected to the first Steward Council.

What I can’t tell you

How many local nodes are active today. The numbers in circulation are old, and I don’t have a current one I would stand behind.
